The Big Berak Feeling

Would you do it for me if you could do it? Of course I would.....

Then you begin to associate with all the symptoms of going through a pregnancy ...you puke, cant stand certain smells, etc etc....and at the end of it.....have a big berak....

Ok..the last one kinda got me thinking .....a big berak, I've had constipation before...first thing i ask was how big would this big berak be.....

The nurses kept coming into our labour room..asking my wife if she felt like having a big berak (This is my third observation, a number of friends and their friends as well have also confirmed similar observations)....i find it rather strange (my wife thinks it's a "gross understatement") to associate this wonderful process of the birth of a human being with a big berak....especially after going through it 3 times (end to end perspective) with my other half...

Thinking of the possibility of having a big berak the size of a new born kid...menggelabah jugak la.....my biggest berak was a just a small fraction of that..ngeri siut.

So would you do it if both male and females of the human species have the ability?

Or do you take turns doing it?

It has been 3 times in my life that my wife and i have been blessed with the gift of a child. Each time, it was a wonder at the miracle of birth. Each time, I saw the pain of childbirth. To call it a "Big Berak" is not a gross understatement, it GROSS. It trivialises the final process of birth...maybe the nurses are used to Bahasa Pasar. But, that should not excuse the phrase, though.

  2. Totally agree with you bro, if i could have my way; pelempang sebijik!!

Wonder if it is in their "official" terminology in Nursing school buat malu only....

My wife could easily come up with 10 other potential descriptions to the pain...

  3. Nurses ni pulak satu! You tau I heard lots of horror stories of nurses taking advantage of the vulnerability of patients under labour, under stress, under duress, under --- oklah might as well say it --- tengah meneran. Their favourite quip is, "haa sakit! sakit! sakit! tau pulak sakit yer! Masa sedap-sedap dulu tak teringat pulak sakit!"

de Minimis: if you were present waktu tu, while your wife giving birth, what would you have done. Kalau I, bagi pelempang jer.

I heard many indon couples about to give birth in Malaysia, including the maids or wives of construction labourers, irrespective of how poor they are, would rather pay to go to a private hospital where the very layanan is pegged upon how much they pay, rather than go to gomen hospital and be humiliated by such poetic justices.

As my circumciser told me when I was a child, "STOP SQUIRMING AND FIDGETING WILL YOU! SYUKUR KAT TUHAN ORANG LELAKI SEKALI NIIII SAJA TAHAN SAKIT. ORANG PEREMPUAN, SETIAP KALI BERANAK, SETIAP KALI SAKIT." whereupon he just went SNIPped and off went my 'skin.
