The Great Perak Peras Ugut

Couple of days back I saw the news on the award of land to Chinese Independent School....

I don't need to say much as Big Dog already had a post on it lu bace sendiri la....

Semalam satu bijik news lagi keluar...this time even better...

IPOH, July 21 – DAP MP for Taiping Nga Kor Ming claimed today that land allocation to Chinese independent schools in Perak was a Pakatan Rakyat (PR) initiative, and the current state government had executed the plan due to political pressure.

Nga said the land allocation was approved by the PR government while it was still in power.

“Barisan Nasional (BN), on its own, would never have done this,” he told The Malaysian Insider.

He added that the land allocation was given a go-ahead by the current BN government due to “political pressure” from the Chinese community in the state.

Dialogue with Mahmood on Satu Sekolah

Mahmood came to my blog a few days back on this post

we interacted........have a look incase u missed it....

Mahmood said

Tax payers money also funded a lot of unemployable Bumiputra students by the way. I have no problem with SRJK mainly because it is good to learn another language and my kids reap the rewards now. They can speak Bahasa Melayu, English and Mandarin fluently as well as read and write. It is just plain economic sense. I want my kids to be globalized. (Syed Akbar Ali pointed it out in one of his articles...why most Bumi graduates from local universities have difficulty securing a job while their non-bumi counterpart can secure jobs not just in Malaysia but Singapore, UK, China, Australia etc.) The Government spending for SRJK is minuscule compare to SRK. It is a fact. The only moolah you hear donated is during election. The fund allocated for SRJK is also prone to abuse by Government officers that dengki them like you. I know because my kids attend Chinese school. They have fund raising every year just to meet the school expenses. Teachers are kiasu but in a good way. They send quarterly report on my children progress. Examination schedules are printed 2 months in advance and sent through post to Parents. Any slight changes in my children progress are reported to me. All parents have teachers mobile numbers to keep in touch. I can't say the same for SRK. For normal SRK. Where plebian Melayu like me would have their kids to school. Maklumlah I can't afford International Schools, Private School and goodness know what school for those elite Bumiputras. If you are a parent, you would know what is my concern. Good quality education. Which is very hard to come by these days in Malaysia.

The trip is on the top of the list of things that the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department wants to do after his targeted retirement age of 54. More here

What would a Chinese "Perkasa" fight for?

We live in a strange world indeed......

Perkasa the right wing Pribumi Rights group was formed for the sole purpose of "defending" the Article 153....donno how they plan to defend but if they want to monitor its implementation and provide annual report of their "monitoring activities" to the Agong  then it kinda makes more sense.......

I wonder what "Specific Constitutional Rights" does other communities/ kaum-kaum lain has that a Special Chinese Perkasa needs to be created ?

Mr Tan Speak My Language First and Respect the Constitutional Provisions

Chinese group backs NEM’s meritocracy pledge
KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 — The Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) today demanded the government uphold the principle of equality as promised in the New Economic Model (NEM).
Its president Tan Yew Sing said the umbrella body of 430 Chinese organisations has drafted a memorandum to be submitted to the government.
KLSCAH endorses these principles especially those pertaining to equal opportunity for all Malaysian, good governance and checks on corruption,” said Tan at a press conference here.
“We have also drafted a memorandum on NEM,” he added.
When it was pointed out that the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been under pressure from Malay rights group to maintain pro-Bumiputera policies, Tan said such pressure came only from a minority group.
“We feel the only way forward for this country is equal opportunity for all races, irrespective of gender, irrespective of religion. Everybody must move forward in this country as we are in a global competition,” said Tan.

SIB Headhunters coming our way: The Jill Ireland Allah Ciplak CD Case

Guess what folks........

Allah Ciplak is in court again....

This time a well planned individual attack executed by a member of the Sidang Injil Borneo......

KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 – Sarawakian Christian Jill Ireland Lawrence Bill will get her chance next month to grill two local scholars who are dead-set against the use of the word “Allah” to also refer to God outside Islam.

Senior High Court assistant registrar Akhiruddin @ Boy Acho agreed to her application today and set hearing for Aug 9.

“My client wants to cross-examine the so-called Islamic experts who have filed affidavits to show ‘Allah’ is exclusive to Islam,” Jill’s lawyer Annou Xavier told The Malaysian Insider today.

Annou said the experts from the national Institute of Islamic Understanding (Ikim) and Universiti Malaysia’s Department of Aqidah and Islamic Thinking (Apium) were supporting the home ministry’s insistence to limit the use of the word “Allah” to within a Muslim context.

Jill, a member of the Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB) church, is suing the home ministry for confiscating her personal collection of CDs at the airport two years ago, simply because they bore the word “Allah”.

The 29-year-old clerk wants the CDs — titled: “Cara Hidup Dalam Kerajaan Allah”, “Cara Menggunakan Kunci Kerajaan Allah”, “Ibadah Yang Benar Dalam Kerajaan Allah” and “Hidup Benar Dalam Kerajaan Allah” — returned. More here

The Seditious Tendency of PKFZ Wee and Tara Telur Khairy

I asked if the little boy got balls to do a police report.......maka datanglah satu Singaporean based macha melalak tak tentu arah.....anyway....

Today MCA Youth came forward

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Youth has lodged a police report over the publication of the front-page article by Perkasa in its official organ Suara Perkasa that called on the Government to detain MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong under the Internal Security Act (ISA).

The police report was lodged by Selangor MCA Youth chief Dr Kow Cheong Wei, who was accompanied by about 20 members of Federal Territory and Selangor MCA Youth, at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters here, about 3pm Sunday.

Dr Kow claimed that the contents of the report published by Suara Perkasa on Thursday were too extreme.

"We hope the Home Ministry will revoke the Perkasa publication licence," he told reporters at the district police headquarters. - Bernama

Well let us look at the issue here according to the Sedition Act 1948

A “seditious tendency” is a tendency—
(a) to bring into hatred or contempt or to excite disaffection against any Ruler or against any Government;

(b) to excite the subjects of any Ruler or the inhabitants of any territory governed by any Government to attempt to procure in the territory of the Ruler or governed by the Government, the alteration, otherwise than by lawful means, of any matter as by law established;

(c) to bring into hatred or contempt or to excite disaffection against the administration of justice in Malaysia or in any State;

(d) to raise discontent or disaffection amongst the subjects of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or of the Ruler of any State or amongst the inhabitants of Malaysia or of any State;

(e) to promote feelings of ill will and hostility between different races or classes of the population of Malaysia;
or

(f) to question any matter, right, status, position, privilege,sovereignty or prerogative established or protected by the provisions of Part III of the Federal Constitution or Article 152, 153 or 181 of the Federal Constitution.

Let us now examine the disputed statement made by Wee

KUALA LUMPUR: Scholarships given to students for overseas studies will focus more at the post-graduate level, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“It will be done gradually so that we can build up institutions of high standards and ranking in this country.

“But at the same time, the critical courses will continue for a while until we build up our local capacity,” said the Prime Minister at a press conference after meeting Islamic religious and fardhu ain class teachers here yesterday.

Najib was commenting on calls for the Government to continue awarding scholarships to top scorers to further their studies abroad.

In a related development, MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong urged the Public Service Department to maintain the overseas scholarships.

“We understand the Govern ment cannot afford to send all bright students overseas, but we hope the same number of scholarships will be retained for those who truly deserve help,” said the Deputy Education Minister.

Dr Wee also asked whether the Mara scholarship programme for bumiputra students would be scrapped together with the PSD scholarships.

“If the Government is only doing away with the PSD scholarships but retain the Mara scholarships, this will not be in line with the 1Malaysia concept that the Government is promoting,” he said. More here

Read that statement carefully....

Did Wee question Malay Rights enshrined under the Constitution by challenging the Government planned policy of scrapping PSD scholarships without scrapping MARA scholarships?

If he did, look at item (f) in the definition of Seditious tendency.........

BTW Suara Perkasa...gua budget lu silap topik.........your inaugural headline should have been

Detain Wee Under Sedition Act

The Ministry made the first move, MCA followed suit.........

What's your next move Perkasa?....

The flip side on this issue now is whether Suara Perkasa Article promoted feelings of ill will and hostility between different races or classes of the population of Malaysia?

Did it?

When Wee uttered that statement, was he speaking as a Deputy Minister of Education or MCA youth Head or an individual Malaysian of Chinese decent?

Go figure......

Tok Brehing.......if I were you get all the Malay NGOs to do a police report on Wee's statement...and let KDN figure out who have actually "promoted feelings of ill will and hostility between different races or classes of the population of Malaysia by questioning Article 153"........

Just wondering.....if that happens....would the Chinese defend a PKFZ tainted operator?
