Maths & Science in Urami(Uranus Language)

Fuh...crazy week......

I studied Maths n Science in Bahasa up till 17 years old and then went on to study more Maths in English.......

One thing that i could gather from this whole thing is that.

Maths is not for everybody, you could either do it or not......what ever blardy language pun if your brain cannot handle it guarantee hancur. I once went to Bangkok for a consulting assignment.....their English hancur gile but once we started talking in formulas.... it was smooth sailing all the way

Before introduction did the Government bother to set up a Control Group so that they can test if the policy would be successful or not? Or can we consider the experiment these past few years as a control group....if so can we compare the results of the previous batch of orang tua tua who had a full English stream whats the output.....better or worst? How does that compare to the Bahasa stream??

One thing for sure if you are talking about Maths and Science level up to Form Five, thats nothing la, no one is gonna read new phd research at that level....they are just learning the basics people.....

Stress Testing The Logic of Vernacular Schooling

First of all ...i've not read that much about vernacular school.....always find the whole thing rather strange...somehow does not fit....since i was small.....so i'm just gonna write based on the very little that i know of the whole vernacular schooling system in Malaysia.....

Stress Test Scenario

What if Vernacular School students need to pass a verbal interview in Bahasa Malaysia for them to proceed to the next level of anything in their system......

And if they fail any of these interview, they must take additional classes to prepare for the repeat interview.........they must then be evaluated annually..to measure their "ability" in our National Language versus the Control Sample of Chinese or Indian Students in National Schools who are provided additional classes in Tamil and Mandarin.......it does not not take long you can start with the current 7 year old joining the education system in January.......monitor them and tell us in 1 year ...also compare the two sample population in their mother tongue ability (same interview in Tamil and Mandarin should be conducted on the National School sample population)



Then you must also shock the whole system altogether....... if they do not reach a certain standards at the age of 16....they CANNOT apply for a driving or a motor cycle license..they must then take more classes in Bahasa Malaysia and undertake more verbal interviews , Vernacular Driving schools must be eliminated as well IMMEDIATELY ...........maybe that's why they need multilingual sign-boards.......how does it sound anyway in those strange characters......:"Jha Lan La Ja La Ut"...does it sound like that or do they actually translate the whole thing into say "Walking King Sea".........

Start now ...and lets see if "they" can defend their logic in maintaining vernacular school....

Say now if the government PULL OUT completely in funding these vernacular or Sekolah "Jenis" Kebangsaan....euu got jenis one!!.....do you think the race that control the wealth in our country would sit back ......or do u think they would immediately operate their own Ministry of Education.....to organize the whole thing complete with funding, printing, construction and education capabilities.......probably thru donation from the community........the moment people put in money into a cause that they "believe" in......then we are definitely on a direct collision course....we need to readjust this evolving path....that can only be done thru systematic and strategic policy action...........so to discourage the funding.....taxes must be used....Parents who send their children to vernacular school must pay additional 5% Income Tax.........

Lets say then they apply to operate a private school....make sure they pay thru the roof for the annual license........make them pay........just make them pay.......lets see how much money do they actually have to sustain the whole perverted system......

National News should also no longer be conducted in any other language except for Bahasa Malaysia and English.....RTM take note....you must have consistent policy action coordinated in a holistic manner........Advertisements should also use Bahasa n English only.........

Newpapers in Chinese or Indian Language must have 40% Minimum content in bahasa malaysia.....with alternate pages so that the Bahasa section does not end up as alas periuk or something like that.........make them pay again.......make them pay...........

Our Constitution is being undermined by agents of disunity......too much vested interest....purely to buy votes of a particular race............sprinkling the myopic logic on the need to maintain vernacular school further....into the minds of malaysians

Look ahead people....look into the eyes of your children.....what kind of future do you want them to be in...........we must start now..to build that future..............the one that makes us smile on our death bed.........

Building the National Language Failure Index

Imagine this….which language did the Chinese, the Indians and Malays used to communicate say in 1950’s to 60’s …bahasa or English? I surely don’t know if not I wouldn’t be writing this post…ok lets go back a bit further say when the British first brought in the Indians and Chinese over as workers into specific industries in Malaya….u think they came out of the boat to utter “Ape kabar pakcik?”

Look at us now…… much have been said since KijangMas Racial Polarisation and the Forging of Bangsa Malaysia …on the need for a uniting language which is already part and parcel of our constitution…what else is there to talk about?? Most people are inclined to point out vernacular school as the main culprit ……to me it is the "source" of the original problem but now the "effect" itself have become a bigger problem.hence..I would rather point the finger at us …..yes all of US….you and me and all the people around us…..are we not all customers some time in our lives of the printed press……how many of you got books, newspapers, periodicals etc……How much do u spend annually on reading materials? Let’s say 400 ringgit assuming the typical annual paper price + a few magazines….say how many of us are out there…10 million maybe?? Say out of that 30% are regular customers, how much would the industry be worth..say simple congak-congak could easily come up to 1.2Billion Ringgit……..or maybe lower...shit i dont know....but at least in the 100's of million

So now folks take a walk into our “Carrefour” of book-stores say MPH, Borders, Knokuniya, Popular etc….take a look at the size of the Bahasa Malaysia section….and compare that to the English section…sad indeed…..ok what if we were to look at the revenue composition of all bookstores in Malaysia how much is derived from Bahasa Malaysia…..I bet the numbers also indicate the same observation that you see in their stores…..It’s so simple if there is no demand then they would not bother to translate international books into our beloved national language….these are “pure for profit” institutions who will act only if there is sustainable demand to justify the investment into translating the magazines, books etc into Bahasa……some of you might be tempted to say but if we translate into Bahasa we would not be able to catch up with the evolution of terminology in Science etc…..I say NO…this is the very reason that our language have not evolve to the level where Bahasa Indonesia is and have lead us to ciplak from their language……just go to Indonesia and look at how their Bahasa have evolved and how "big" the size of the English language section in their bookstores……even International monthly or weekly periodicals have a Bahasa Indonesia version……hell they even got Playboy in Bahasa… or instead look at Malaysia music industry..... just turn on the radio n u'll notice that the Indonesian songs dominates the airwaves.....why?? Is our language so bad the we r unable to verbalise our thoughts n feelings in a convincing manner??Tak cukup vocab kut.....


To the policy makers out there may I recommend setting up a National Language Failure Index by monitoring the revenue composition and the square-foot coverage ratio [ (Total Size of Bahasa Section divided by ( Total Size of Bookstore – the administrative sections)] in the Malaysian Bookstores dedicated to promoting the sales of books in Bahasa Malaysia……lets see when we can overcome this coup d'état on our beloved Bahasa Malaysia……..if we want to go to the extreme lets disgorge the ill gotten gains via special “assimilation tax” on all English language books revenue…

So folks are you ready to read your Economist, Time, Fortune,Cosmo etc in Bahasa??? I believe we must do something about it urgently..if not Bahasa Malaysia could never fulfill its constitutional objective......
